I am Stepping up for Parkinson's this May.
This May I’m stepping up for Parkinson’s. 💜
I’m doing it for my best friend’s Mum, my Mum’s best friend (aka “Nana” to my daughter), and all the incredible people living with Parkinson’s that I’m lucky enough to meet through my work. You are all truly inspiring — and we are in this together.
I’ve rejoined the best gym (hello Anytime Fitness — because anytime, anywhere = no excuses 😅) and I’m committing to:
✔️ Gym at least 3 times a week
✔️ Walking every single day throughout May
Why does this matter so much?
👉 Exercise is second only to medication. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful exercise is - it can actually help reverse Parkinson’s symptoms. Step Up & Power Up!
👉 Parkinson’s NSW receives just $0.47 per person living with Parkinson’s from the government to provide FREE support services. Meanwhile, Parkinson’s is more prevalent than 9 common cancers combined. That honestly blows my mind.
Right now, there are 219,000 Australians living with Parkinson’s — and 18% are of working age. That’s 39,420 people who are navigating this in the middle of careers, families, and everyday life. Parkinson’s doesn’t just affect older people.
